Café co-lab: Consultants & Freelancers: Finding Clients & Closing moderated by co-lab member Abbey Samet

Join us for a panel discussion on how to find clients and close deals. The conversation will be moderated by co-Lab member and Fractional Merchandising Executive Abbey Samet and will feature special guests: Allison Henry Aver, Founder and Executive Creative Director of Letter A; Natalie Tunnard, Founder and Principal of Volumes Marketing; and Rachel Webre, Founder and Principal Consultant at Goods 2 Great.

Allison Henry Aver is the founder and executive creative director of Letter A, a boutique branding agency for fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands.

Allison has a penchant for building brands full of charm, style, and charisma — taking them from static to spirited.

Prior to Letter A, she was a Creative Director with agency, in-house, and fractional consulting experience. Her expertise in branding grew from leading in-house creative marketing teams at Vogue, kate spade new york, Ann Taylor, Bumble and bumble, and Hanna Andersson. She was also the founding Director of Brand Creative for the cult brand, Kate Spade Saturday.

Abbey Samet is a New York City–based merchandising strategist and product leader known for translating cultural insight into compelling products and retail experiences. With leadership roles at Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Kenneth Cole, Lacoste, and venture-backed lifestyle brand Solid & Striped, she brings a unique ability to connect trend forecasting, merchandising strategy, and brand storytelling to drive growth across global brands.

At Macy’s, Abbey founded and led the company’s Global Trend Forecasting division, shaping seasonal product strategies that influenced more than $16B in annual sales across private brands and national assortments. Her work bridges creative vision with commercial execution—developing product assortments, retail concepts, and partnerships that connect culture, consumer insight, and commerce.

Abbey approaches brand building holistically, combining product strategy, experiential retail thinking, and forecasting expertise to help brands scale, evolve, and resonate with modern consumers.

Natalie Tunnard, Founder/Principal of Volumes Marketing, Social Management Consultancy focused on brand strategy, insights and analytics. With a background in brand strategy across finance, tech and sustainability industries, I consult with D2C and B2B brands delivering insights and analytics behind owned social and brand health. I have been independent since 2020, now operating under my current consultancy, Volumes Marketing, with services that include ground-up social strategy, consumer research using social-first listening methods, and analytics and measurement of creative performance. I support social and brand leadership at brands like Sonos by providing data-driven narrative insights and strategy that helps secure investment and buy-in, and enables their teams to create resonant content that drive real business impact.

I am originally from Texas via Philadelphia, and recently relocated to Brooklyn after 10 years between San Francisco and Los Angeles. I have a 5 year old doodle rescue named Sonny that is the apple of my eye. Music, fashion, and alternative comedy are some of my favorite things.

Rachel Webre, Founder and Principal consultant at Goods 2 Great, an Operations and Project Management Consultancy, spent the first 10 years of her career at L'Oreal in various Operations roles, largely managing cross-functional teams through product launches.  She made a career pivot and for 5 years worked at 2 different non-profits, but ultimately missed making products!

For the past 5 years, Rachel has taken on various leadership roles within Operations in consumer products, managing product launches at Henkel, campaigns at Sol de Janeiro, and building out a supply chain function at a start-up pet pharmacy.

In 2025, after managing hundreds of launches, Rachel decided to launch her very own Operations and Project Management Consultancy, Goods 2 Great.  She focuses on helping beauty and consumer brands with product launches and operations, bringing structure and guidance to teams during periods of growth.
