Café co-lab: Working in Sport

Working for a sports brand isn’t the same as working in fashion. There’s a different energy, a different purpose, and a whole lot more focus on performance, community, and movement. Hear from three people who’ve been in it—what makes it exciting, what’s unique, and how sports brands are having a major moment right now, especially for women.

Allison Henry Aver is the founder and creative director of Letter A, a brand-building firm based in Portland, Oregon.

Allison has a penchant for building brands full of charm, style, and charisma — taking them from static to spirited.

Prior to Letter A, she was a Creative Director with agency, in-house, and fractional consulting experience. Her expertise in branding grew from leading in-house creative marketing teams at Vogue, kate spade new york, Ann Taylor, Bumble and bumble, and Hanna Andersson. Lee Glandorf is a marketer and writer based in Boston, MA. An early member of the team at Tracksmith, she currently works with brands including Diadora, Omius and more on brand and copy projects. She is the creator of The Sweat Lookbook, a newsletter exploring the intersection of women's sports and fashion.

Lucy McCalmont is a leader in content and creative fields with wide-ranging experience across influential digital startups and major global brands.

She currently is the Head of Content at the WNBA, overseeing a growing team whose mission it is to tell the story of the league, players, teams through various digital, social platforms, partnerships and brand creative.

Prior to this, Lucy has sought out roles that have encompassed various elements of creative and editorial work and has held positions at Glossier, Nike, The Players’ Tribune, The Huffington Post, POLITICO and The (London) Sunday Times.

Kamauri Yeh is a seasoned and multifaceted brand, creative, and digital marketing executive.

She currently serves as Nike's Vice President of Global Digital Marketing. Prior to this role, Kamauri was the Vice President, Global Womens Creative Director at Nike.
